A one-year taught master's applying data science and artificial intelligence to energy and sustainability problems, combining programming, spatial data, environmental assessment and energy economics with an individual project.

Entry requirements

Academic

A UK first or second class undergraduate degree with honours, as a minimum, or equivalent international qualification. A related science or engineering background is preferred. This course requires ATAS clearance for international students who need a visa.

English language

IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with 5.5 in each skill. PTE Academic 65 overall with 59 in each skill. TOEFL iBT: for tests taken before 21 January 2026, 92 total with minimums of 18 reading, 17 listening, 20 speaking and 17 writing; for tests from 21 January 2026, 4.5 overall with 4 in each skill. Tests must be within two years of the start date and all scores from a single test.

Applicants from Pakistan

Cranfield's international entry requirements page lists, for Pakistan, a four-year Bachelor degree with Second division (high) as the 2:1 equivalent and Second division (low) as the 2:2 equivalent. Working after you graduate

Bachelor's and master's graduates on a Student visa may apply in the UK for the Graduate visa: two years if applying by 31 December 2026, or 18 months if applying on or after 1 January 2027.
