Applying for a bachelor's degree

Through UCAS. You apply to up to five courses with one application and one personal statement.

Deadlines for 2027 entry. Oxford, Cambridge and most medicine, dentistry and veterinary courses close on 15 October 2026 at 18:00 UK time. Most other courses close on 13 January 2027 at 18:00 UK time.

Applying with Intermediate (HSSC). Many Russell Group universities ask students with Intermediate results to complete a foundation year or international year one first. A levels usually give direct entry. Each university publishes its own requirements for Pakistan.

Applying for a master's degree

You apply directly to each university, usually online. Most taught master's degrees last one year, which keeps the total cost lower than in many other countries.

Entry is usually based on your bachelor's grades, measured against a UK 2:1 or 2:2, along with your English score and, for some courses, work experience. Many universities list the CGPA they accept from Pakistani universities on their country pages.

Working after you graduate

The Graduate Route lets you stay and work in the UK after your degree. For applications made from 1 January 2027, bachelor's and master's graduates get 18 months, down from two years. PhD graduates keep three years.
