Eight private universities in the north-east of the United States, among the oldest and most selective in the world. Here is what each one asks of international applicants, how financial aid works for students from Pakistan, and how we help you prepare.
Policies below apply to first-year undergraduates applying in the 2026/27 cycle, for entry in autumn 2027.

New Haven, Connecticut
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Princeton, New Jersey
New York City, New York
Providence, Rhode Island
Hanover, New Hampshire
Ithaca, New York
One application, eight schools. All eight accept the Common App. Each adds its own short essays and questions, so plan for several pieces of writing per university.
Two rounds. Early rounds close on 1 November and regular rounds in the first week of January. Harvard, Yale and Princeton run a restrictive or single-choice early action round; the other five run binding Early Decision, which commits you to attend if you are admitted.
Testing. Six of the eight require the SAT or ACT this cycle. Princeton and Columbia are test-optional for 2026/27 and have both announced a return to required testing from 2027/28.
From your school. Expect to send your transcripts, a counsellor report and teacher recommendations, plus proof of English if it is not your first language. Requirements differ between universities, so check each one before you apply.
The Ivies give aid based on financial need. There are no academic or sports scholarships in the usual sense.
Need-blind for international students: Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth and Brown do not consider your ability to pay when they decide on your application, and they meet the full demonstrated need of the students they admit.
Need-aware for international students: Columbia, Penn and Cornell may take your request for aid into account when deciding. They still offer generous aid to many of the international students they admit.
Every Ivy has a net price calculator on its website. Using it early tells you what your family would be expected to contribute.
Graduate schools at each Ivy admit students separately from the undergraduate college. You apply to each programme directly, usually with a statement of purpose, references and, for many courses, the GRE or GMAT.
Most PhD offers come with full funding: tuition plus a living stipend, usually in return for teaching or research work. Funding for master's degrees is more limited.
Ivy League universities make their own admissions decisions and do not admit students through agents. We help you put forward the strongest application you can.
Testing and aid policies checked in October 2026 against each university's announcements and published admissions information. Policies change between cycles, so we confirm them again for every application.
