Three-year full-time computing degree with first-year study of programming, mathematics for computing and a team project. An optional placement or year abroad extends it to four years.

Entry requirements

Academic

112 UCAS tariff points from at least the equivalent of 2 full A levels, plus GCSE Mathematics C/4. IB: 29 points in the Diploma.

English language

IELTS 6.0 overall, with 5.5 in each component. Pre-sessional English pathway available.

Applicants from Pakistan

Essex Pakistan page states ISSC or HSSC with 75 to 80% for first-year entry to most undergraduate degrees, with a credibility interview. Some subject requirements cannot be met with these qualifications, so confirm for this course. The course page lists no Pakistan-specific requirements. Source

Working after you graduate

Bachelor's and master's graduates on a Student visa may apply in the UK for the Graduate visa: two years if applying by 31 December 2026, or 18 months if applying on or after 1 January 2027.
